We’ve heard it for more than a decade: Cadillac’s in the midst of a renaissance. It all started with the first-generation CTS, and last weekend during Monterey Car Week Cadillac told the world that it continues with a preview of the future.
The automaker took the wraps off its latest concept car, the Escala. Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen was quick to say the Escala is not a preview of a production car. Rather, it’s a glimpse at the design direction and tech for future models.
We asked you in our latest Twitter poll whether Cadillac is heading in the right direction and the majority of you said, “Maybe, it’s too soon to tell.” Interestingly, 33 percent of you responded with “Cadillac still exists?” We aren’t sure if you were trying to be funny or not, but we’ll assume since you are an avid Motor Authority reader that you were.
As you see in the results below, 25 percent of you seem to like where Cadillac’s going as you said, “Yes! Did you see the Escala?” Meanwhile, 2 percent of you apparently didn’t like the Escala, which doesn’t bode well for your opinion of the automaker going forward.

The future of Cadillac is pretty clear at this point, with five new vehicles coming over the next five years. The design will likely be similar to the Escala’s as that concept car marked the first look at Cadillac’s new face.
Tech will play a large part in future products with screens inside vehicles, advanced lighting, and advanced powertrains.
Whether Cadillac can climb its way back to the top of the luxury-car world here in the U.S. is yet to be seen, but the company certainly thinks it can.
