Jaguar in 2015 launched a lighter, more dynamic XF.
The svelte sedan doesn’t get as much attention as its German rivals but it’s one of the best options in the mid-size luxury segment, especially if you’re fond of spirited driving.
Soon the XF will spawn a wagon, which Jaguar likes to call a “Sportbrake.”
The automaker has released a single shot depicting a prototype for the new XF Sportbrake, and says the shapely wagon will arrive in 2017.
Unfortunately, Jaguar doesn’t say whether the XF Sportbrake will be sold in the United States. The previous generation (shown above) never made it here and there’s a good chance this new one won’t either, although we hope we’re wrong on that front. There are some rivals already here, such as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon, Volvo V90 and soon a Panamera wagon.
The XF Sportbrake will be the third and likely final body style for the latest XF. In addition to the standard sedan, Jaguar also sells a long-wheelbase XF L exclusively in China.
