The high-powered version of the redesigned Mercedes-Benz E class will reach 396 hp.

The Mercedes-AMG E43 will hit showroom floors in the U.S. in early 2017, the German luxury brand said Thursday. Pricing was not disclosed.

It will be introduced at the New York auto show this month.

The AMG E43 comes with a 3.0-liter, V-6 biturbo engine that generates 396 hp, more than the 241 hp on the standard E class. It has a 0-to-60-mph time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph.

The debut of the high-end E-class sedan comes after Mercedes revealed its redesigned 2017 E class at the Detroit auto show in January. The new E class is more coupelike than the 2016 model as Mercedes attempts to counter declining sedan sales industrywide.
