Already offered on the Q50 sedan, the performance trim indicates the most potent powertrain of the range, in this case a 400-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6.
It also indicates some additional performance-oriented tweaks such as uprated suspension, steering and brakes.
The Q60 Red Sport, officially a Q60 Red Sport 400, will go on sale in late summer alongside the rest of the new Q60 range. Below it will sit 208-hp and 300-hp versions of the svelte two-door.
Infiniti also used the Geneva show to reaffirm its technical partnership with Renault’s new Formula One team, Renault Sport F1. As part of the partnership, Infiniti will contribute engineering resources towards continued development of the hybrid power unit used by in the team’s cars, which incorporates two Infiniti-derived motor generator units. Infiniti hopes to gain important experience in high-performance hybrid systems for future road cars.
