This Might Just Be The Quickest Lamborghini Aventador In The World: Video

Follow Viknesh

The Lamborghini Aventador is a quick car in any form. But hand it to the men and women at Underground Racing of Charlotte, North Carolina, and it becomes a completely different beast, one capable of outpacing virtually any other car on the planet–at least in a straight line. A Lamborghini Huracán featuring one of Underground Racing’s signature twin-turbocharging systems recently snagged the world record for the standing half mile, managing an incredible 238.6 mph top speed.

This Aventador with a similar engine upgrade isn’t quite as quick but it’s still the quickest we’ve seen for this particular model. During Omega Motorsport’s recent NoFlyZone Half Mile event in Maricopa, Arizona, the car reached 217.8 mph. That’s not bad considering it was the driver’s first time competing in a half mile event.

Underground Racing doesn’t simply bolt on a pair of turbos and call it a day. The company, which specializes in extracting well over a 1,000 horsepower from the latest exotics, ensures the longevity of its powertrains by also modifying most of the internals. In the case of this Aventador, the company has replaced many of the stock internals with stronger units including billet connecting rods and race-spec pistons. The company has also upgraded the flywheel, clutch and all-wheel-drive system differentials to handle the extra loads.
