Watch Ryan Tuerck drift a Scion FR-S at New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Drifting star and New Hampshire native Ryan Tuerck didn’t have to go very far for his latest stunt: New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

As the video shows, Tuerck and his New England-based team perform a little much-needed maintenance to bring his Scion FR-S up to spec including, of course, new tires that he decided to break in on his driveway’s pavement.

Let’s just hope that Tuerck didn’t pay extra for an extended-mile service plan for that rubber, since it didn’t last very long once he hit the race track in nearby Loudon, New Hampshire.

At the track, Tuerck whips the FR-S around both the road course and, perhaps more impressively, the NASCAR oval. Just look at how close Tuerck comes to hitting the outside walls. Later, Tuerck is joined by fellow drifter Steve Angerman and the two work in tandem for a little synchronized drifting.

Interestingly, Tuerk’s FR-S has already been rebadged as a Toyota. The Japanese automaker’s Scion brand is set to bite the dust before the 2017 model year, but the FR-S will live on as the Toyota 86. In fact, not only does the FR-S/86 get a new nameplate, it also receives some of the same updates applied to the similarly facelifted Subaru BRZ we recently drove in Japan.
